shuttle is being moved from the kennedy space center in florida to its permanent home in los angeles. it will be riding atop a modified 747 and is expected to arrive in southern california thursday evening, spending the night at edwards air force base here is the projected flight paths, heading north to sacramento. it is expected to make a low altitude pass over the state capital and there, weather permitting, the shuttle is expected to come down to the bay area with the past about 1,500 ft. over the golden gate bridge. from there, it will fly down the peninsula to the nasa research center. nasa is holding a viewing party there. endeavor will then have to seven california to its permanent home. the big question for us is going to be the weather. it looks likely macy fog on friday. we will have to keep our fingers crossed. >> the first eight months of 2012 were the hottest ever recorded in the u.s.. the nation as a whole average 40 degrees above average for the year. high temperatures recorded in july, 126 degrees in death valley which was recently recognized as the hottest place on
